In 1964 Centaur was acting as an Australian Trade Mission vessel on her first operational voyage from Australia to Singapore,Bangkok, Manila, Hong Kong and Japan.This depicts Centaur and HMS Centaur in Hong Kong harbour, a very unique juxtaposition of the "twin" Centaurs ! The photograph was taken by a helicopter from HMS Centaur.

Sailed with a blue funnel during 1953 only, in order to get the very conservative Malay Pilgrim authorities accustomed to the change from Blue Funnel ships who had been carrying pilgrims for 75 years. For all subsequent years they had China Navigation's black funnels.
