Traditional Miniature Ship Models Links

As a new feature to the site we would like to introduce you to the miniature ship models of R.A. Wilson. who became a "Life Member of the Royal Society of Arts" in 1980. "Bob" trained as a Radio Officer at Wray Castle from 1959 through to 1961 and he took up his first appointment with Radio Company A.E.I. who he served with from 1961 to 1965. He then joined British & Commonwealth where he served on the following "Castles" - Richmond, Transvaal (S.A. Vaal), Windsor, Pendennis, Pretoria (S.A. Oranje), Edinburgh and Good Hope as well as Reina Del Mar and Nina Bowater. After a brief spell with Silver Line from 1976-79 he joined Curnow Shipping serving on St. Helena and transferred to her namesake when the original vessel was replaced in 1990. With the demise of Radio Officers inevitable Bob,
decided to turn his "Hobby" into a profitable and satisfying career and to date has completed over 150 models ably assisted by his wife. In the main the models are sold at the twice yearly Maritime sales in London by Christies the Auctioneers and all the examples featured on this page have sadly gone to new owners. Because of impossible demand, Bob no longer undertakes private commissions for specific ships.

There are six models shown on each page so save on download time.
